How to Access & Change Settings

If you want to change your home Wi-Fi password, network name or any other setting you’ll need to log in to your router.

And to do that, you need to know its IP address. You can find that using the ipconfig tool in Windows which we’ll explain below. You can also find out its IP address on your phone by looking at the Wi-Fi details which, again, we’ll show you how to do below.

On top of this, you will almost certainly need the router’s admin password. Most routers have this printed on a label or even a removable card for convenience.

If someone has changed the default router password already, then you’ll need to ask them for it, or reset the router to factory settings.

If you can’t access your router via Wi-Fi for some reason, connect an Ethernet cable between your router and a PC or laptop.
